Casting Alla Italian With Lucio Fontana


This is the first article in a two part series on Casting Alla Italian. In this article we look at some of the most popular films and directors from Italy, both past and present. First of all, we have Lucio Fontana’s “The Godfather” which was made in 1965 and starred Ferrari for the lead role. This is a classic crime thriller that has one of the best car chases and shootouts ever filmed. The late Italian director Tonzi reminisced on the making of this film, saying that it was one of his favorites ever, while approving of the choice of Cariou’s character as a sex symbol.
